Ozine Fest 2009: a 3-day otaku festival
This week was a great one for cosplayers, anime fans, and gamers here in Manila, with Otaku Anime Magazine's Ozine Fest 2009 topping off the week's events.
Aside of course from the usual cosplay events spread out during the three days of the Ozine Fest, the organizers prepared a slew of activities including art contests, console game demos, a maid cafe, battle of the bands and more. They even had a 'matsuri' or festival area where visitors can sample japanese dishes and play games, and of course shop for anime and manga-themed toys and merchandise.
Hataw Hanep Hero 2008
More cosplay goodness - this time from Hero TV’s Hataw Hanep Hero - The Amped Edition event at the Silver City Mall.
The wife and I just got back from taking some pictures of the event. H4 ran for two days, but we only came for the second day, since most of the cosplay events were scheduled to happen then.
And cosplayers there were.
e-Games to come out with Cosplay Calendar
Philippine-based game publisher e-Games is cooking up another calendar for next year, this time featuring Cosplay babes, with Alodia Gosiengfiao in the lead.
See the video for some behind-the-scenes shots from the photoshoot. The e-Games site can be found here: http://www.e-games.com.ph/
Cosplay Mania!
Just got back from the Cosplay Mania event, held at the SM Megamall.
It was a pleasant surprise to see that there are more 'serious' cosplayers now compared to before, and many of the participants seem to have taken more care in the creation of their costumes and taken the time to understand the characters they're playing. (Yeah, I'm also an anime geek, just in case you're wondering).
