This week was a great one for cosplayers, anime fans, and gamers here in Manila, with Otaku Anime Magazine’s Ozine Fest 2009 topping off the week’s events.
Aside of course from the usual cosplay events spread out during the three days of the Ozine Fest, the organizers prepared a slew of activities including art contests, console game demos, a maid cafe, battle of the bands and more. They even had a ‘matsuri’ or festival area where visitors can sample japanese dishes and play games, and of course shop for anime and manga-themed toys and merchandise.
Ozine Fest 2009 was a great event, but the only downside for me was the size of the venue. Either the organizers didn’t anticipate the number of participants coming in, or they didn’t have time to find a large enough place. Whatever the case may be, it pretty much prevented me (and a lot of other people, I’m sure) to fully enjoy what the event had to offer. Considering that we were only able to drop by on the third day, the place was packed, and even by late afternoon the visitors didn’t seem like they were about to let up.

that’s right! I was there the 1st & 2nd day for the single & group cosplay.
The organizers had to remove the table & chairs in front of the stage to accommodate the people coming in. We were sitting on the floor and we kept on moving forward. The venue was jampacked literaly.
But it was fun!
Hi! Just thought I’d share with you our coverage of the event, which features interviews of the cosplayers and participants
