Cosplay Mania!
Girls with guns. Hell yeah!
Just got back from the Cosplay Mania event, held at the SM Megamall.
It was a pleasant surprise to see that there are more 'serious' cosplayers now compared to before, and many of the participants seem to have taken more care in the creation of their costumes and taken the time to understand the characters they're playing. (Yeah, I'm also an anime geek, just in case you're wondering).
Hmm.. i don't recognize this character. She's cute though.
Here are some of the photos from Cosplay Mania '08. Too bad the wife and I had to leave early, so we couldn't stay for the actual awarding/contest proper. I've posted more photos in the image gallery here : http://photos.geekypinoy.com/cosplay-mania/, but these by far are my favorites.
A lot of the costumes and characters were familiar, but I couldn't recognize all of them. If the description is off or empty in the gallery, feel free to leave a comment. The mass of people was a bit too much for the venue size that after a few minutes inside, I had to go out. I didn't even get the chance to take a look at the exhibitors' booths

Hopefully they'll choose a bigger venue next year.

Wow! What a website. You have a real knack for making a blog easy on the eyes. Some sites look like train wrecks, but not this one – it’s a pleasure to visit. I have been a fan of animation since I was 11 years old. Nice to see a site like this one, it brings back a lot of memories for me. Thanks.
