Messed up the photogallery

That I did. So in case you’re here to see some of the photos, come back in a day so. I’ll probably take this chance to try out a different image gallery software.

**EDIT: Managed to somewhat fix things. At least the photo gallery’s back for now.

Hero Nation 2009

Hero Nation 2009, which is essentially the repackaging of Hero TV’s Hataw Hanep Hero event was very well attended. A bit too attended, unfortunately, since by 3 pm they weren’t letting people in anymore because they were out of tickets, and they’ve reached the venue’s 2,000+ capacity limit.

Of course, that didn’t stop many of the hopeful attendees, cosplayers and costrippers to hang around outside the event area. Which was a good thing, since I was able to take some photos, at least :P .

Hopefully the organizers will choose a much bigger venue next year.

Here are a few pics from Hero Nation 2009, and more at the photogallery.

Cosplay Mania 2009

Just got back from Cosplay Mania 2009 at the Megamall, and from what I can tell, it was a huge success. Considering that the organizers opted to get two of the trade halls and a function rooms, the event venue was packed, and there were a lot more people outside the hall.

As usual, here are a few pics from the event. More photos from Cosplay Mania 2009 at the photo gallery.

Life-sized Gigantor statue being built in Japan

credit: Kobe Tetsujin Project

credit: Kobe Tetsujin Project

Of course, because having  just one giant robot isn’t enough, Japan is building yet another one. This time, the life-sized statue of Tetsujin 28-go (aka, Gigantor) is being built in Kobe, which will be inaugurated this October.

The project – which costs 135 million yen (roughly $1.4 million) -  aims to honor the artist who created the Tetsujin manga, Mitsuteru Yokoyama, who was also a native of Kobe.

Now, if those suckers start moving (driven by joushikousei, of course), the wife and I will want to move to Japan.
